The Estate Administration Process

Reporting the Estate
Submission of all required documentation to the Master’s Office, including the will and death certificate, leading to the appointment of the Executor.

Notice to Creditors and Debtors
Publication of statutory notices to identify all claims against and in favour of the estate, with a 30-day notice period.

Liquidation and Distribution Account
Preparation of a detailed account reflecting the estate’s assets, liabilities, administration costs and distribution heirs.

Inspection Period
Publication of notice that the account is available for inspection, allowing interested parties 21 days to review.

Distribution and Finalisation
Settlement of all liabilities and costs, followed by the transfer and distribution of assets to beneficiaries.
